Kay Danes is an International humanitarian and author from Australia who has a genuine interest in providing assistance to impoverished people throughout the world. In April 2006, Kay was appointed as an Honorary Ambassador to the US International Relief Centre that provides humanitarian support to many people in South-East Asia who face adversity through poverty. Kay has actively supported humanitarian missions in Africa and created a great deal of awareness in Australia about the struggle Orphans of Zambia face on a daily basis. She has more recently offered her support to the Childlight Foundation in Afghanistan as a volunteer.
In January 2008, Kay Danes was nominated for the 'Australian of the Year Awards' - and presented a certificate by the Australia Day Council for 'setting high standards of excellence and contributing in ways that inspire us all'.
Kay is a mother of three children and resides in Australia with her husband.
Kay meets with US Congressman Dana Rohrabacher (California) in Washington DC, to discuss democracy issues and economic development for Laos at the US Congressional Forum.
