POEM FOR HONEY
By: Rene Fox
This is about my Boxer, Honey,
who is extremely cute and very funny.
She has a little squashed up face,
which probably is out of place.
Her nature is most sublime,
now that she has reached her prime.
We got her when she was 5 weeks old.
She is more precious than a pot of gold.
Day-by-day we watched her grow
into something wonderful we're proud to show.
With her toys she loves to play,
and play she does every day.
Doggy school was never much fun,
as you can see she never won.
What do you expect, she's such a clown,
the doggy trainer said with a frown.
When we take her for a walk,
you should see the passers-by talk.
They laugh and point and stop and pat.
They've never seen teeth quite like that.
To watch her run is such a joy
but when her knee snaps. Oh boy,
it takes months and months for it to set
and a horrendous bill from the vet.
She is my ray of sunshine.
She is my shining star.
To find a special friend like this,
you'd have to go afar.
Honey's Home Page is such a hit,
I thought it would end up in a pit.
But would you know,
It really is quite a good show.
My number one son put it on the Net.
Now I'm sure she's the number one pet.
The Bulls Eye award she has won,
this really is a load of fun.
Mummy loves you yes she does,
cause you give me such a buzz.
You are cute and you are funny,
cause you are my special Honey.
Sad eyes,
pleading looks,
a mouth that slobbers,
all over my books.
A body so sleek,
a nature so meek,
floppy jowls,
black lips,
Cute bum,
slim hips.
This boxer cross is loyal and true,
She is just an Aussie through and through.
On our bed she chooses to sleep,
and from poor old Mum not a peep.
With rumpled blanket and dirty sheet,
she still thinks she looks so sweet.
