THE SCHAPELLE CORBY CASE

SCHAPELLE HOMEPAGE | LATEST NEWS | HOW TO HELP | CONTACT SCHAPELLE
Letters and care packages [and hand made gifts] are still being delivered in large quantities to Schapelle and in fact, her family are receiving quite a large volume of letters as well. This is tremendously encouraging and shows the true spirit of all Australians that help others when they are down. Thank you to all those supporters who are continuing to show this type of dedication which is really inspiring! Thank you also to the Kerobokan Prison Authorities for allowing this overwhelming support to continue to flourish.

Recent confirmation has been obtained and we must advise that Schapelle is NOT able to purchase a prison cell in Kerobokan Prison. It has been confirmed today by her sister Mercedes, to the Foreign Prisoner Support Service, that there are no cells available. There are 100 female prisoners detained in Kerobokan and there are only 10 cells to accommodate them.

Supporter News

There are some great things happening on the Spirit of Schapelle Forum. SOS Member Roz Fisher from Adelaide is getting some fantastic support for her 'Scrapbook for Schapelle' idea.

Roz and the SOS Administration Staff are calling on all supporters to participate in this project.

"I was thinking about Schapelle's situation, and how we all know just about everything there is to know about her. Let's face it, her whole life has been stripped bare by the media, and yet all she really knows about us is we are a 'Group of Supporters.' So what I want to do is send her a scrapbook of her supporters. If anyone does not know what a scrapbook is (In the modern context) I have a link to some photo's of my latest project here: http://community.webshots.com/user/Purple_Roz

"Basically it is a decorated photo album, each page is 12" x 12", and a way to tell a story in a very creative and lovely way. What I want to do is create a separate page for everyone who wants to be a part of this. I would ask you to send a photo of yourself by snail mail, and some info about yourself. Your real name (If you want to give it), where you live, what you do, your hobbies, favourite colour, favourite food, etc. The more info I have about you, the easier it will be to create each page- for example...if you love Chinese food I would use Chinese decorations on the page...things like that. If you also want to send some postcards of your area, maybe your local beach etc...with some info about that, then I would do a double spread on you and your area."

"If you are an arty-crafty person and would like to do your own page, the only requirement is it must be 12" x 12". I will supply the photo album and all the embellishments, papers, card etc. If anyone wants to help with postage I won't say no, but I am quite happy to cover this myself. The scrapbook will then be a way for Schapelle to see who it is that is actually supporting her. I am so excited about this...and if anyone has any comments or questions please ask them...if you have any complaints or criticisms about this, please send them to SOS Admin. (LOL)

"This is the page about me for the album.

"I had to scan it in two parts because the page is bigger than the scanner, which is why it looks a bit messy where the pieces are merged, but it looks fine in real life. If anyone wants to join in there is still time! "

More supporter news....

There has also been some good support generated through the Schapelle Action Support Group of Victoria. They are focusing on the fine that has been imposed by the Indonesian court. Schapelle’s sentence, as we all well know, has been confirmed at 20 years plus a $14,000 fine. If the fine is not paid, a further six months will be added to her sentence. SASG-V are requesting people think about how Schapelle is going to come up with $14,000 given that she is detained in prison. With remissions that will become available to Schapelle, the sentence is likely to reduce over time and therefore, we need to be ready for that. For more information please contact:
