BANGKWANG PRISON INMATES
	Bangkwang is one of Thailands most notorious prisons. Often called 'The Big Tiger' for its ability to eat a man alive, it caters to prisoners who are serving 30 years to life. LARD YAO WOMENS PRISON
	Lard Yao Womens prison, also known as Bankhen prison is the main prison where foreign women are kept. Inmates are forced to work in very poor conditions for little or no reward. Inmates sleep on the floor in large, overcrowded concrete blocks. CHIANG MAI PRISON

THONBURI REMAND PRISON
	Established in 1994 Thonburi Remand Prison is one of the three remand prisons in Bangkok area. It takes in custody of remandees and convicted prisoners whose sentence term are not over 7 years or not over 14 years in case of elderly prisoners. As of January 2005, there are 3,396 prisoners and 256 prison staff. Prison Information
BANGKOK CORRECTIONAL HOSPITAL
	Central Correctional Hospital is a correctional referral center for sick inmates from various prisons in Bangkok and vicinity. THAILAND AKHA INMATES
	The Akha people are an ethnic minority who have no rights in Thailand. Thailand does not give citizenship to many of the hilltribe people, saying they are illegal immigrants. Those who end up in prison get no support from their poor families. More Information Prisoner Listings
PHITSANULOKE CENTRAL PRISON
	This prison is located about 7 kilometers east of Phitsanuloke in central Thailand. It is easily accessible by local bus, which stops at the prison gate. On 22 March 2004, prison officials said there were about 3,100 male and about 400 female inmates. (However, on 27 January 2004, I was told there were about 4,500 male and about 500 female prisoners.) CHIANGRAI PRISON
	Chiangrai Central Prison is located a few kilometers west of Chiangrai city in northern Thailand on the southern bank of the Mae Kok River. Chiangrai Province has the largest population of Akha hilltribe people in Thailand. However, they make up at least 12% of the inmates in this prison, which is a much larger proportion than in the general population. More Information

	Suan Plu Immigration Detention Center (IDC) is located on Soi Suan Plu, Sathorn. Ask the taxi driver to take you to "Daw Maw" or "Suan Plu" and you should have no trouble getting there. More Information
PATTAYA PRISON
	Nong Palai special prison is a prison built for about 700 inmates, on this moment there are 1700 inmates, included 300 women. They are seperated. They 2 blocks for men, 1 block for waiting trial and 1 block for convicted inmates, up to 10 years! Between 10-20 year who will go to Chonbury! 20 Years up to BKK Hilton. More Information
BOMBAT HOSPITAL
	Bombat is listed as being a hospital In fact, the building areas (measuring some 60x30m) contain only sleeping quarters (60 odd men in a room 24’x14’) and factories of low-tech manufacturing. The official ‘hospital’ is merely 2 small rooms, one for taking urine samples for drug tests on new inmates/victims. The other is set aside for minor surgical proceedures. More Information

It is important to wear polite attire - no shorts, revealing clothing, short skirts or bare shoulders. Your appearance could affect your reception and you could be denied entry to the prison.

Shopping and banking facilities are available at the prisons and items will be delivered to the prisoners. Deposits of money can be made for the prisoners at the prison as long as you have the name and building number.
