Saudi prison fire wounds 13

Riyadh, , Apr. 23 (UPI) -- Saudi police said 13 people were injured Friday in a fire that broke out in one of the cells of al-Haer prison, one of the kingdom's biggest detention centers. Prison chief Brig. Ali Kahtani said the fire was set by one of the inmates.

"All the inmates were evacuated and the fire was put out within a short time," Kahtani said. He said two policemen were among the injured while the rest were inmates.

Al-Haer, on the outskirts of Riyadh, was the scene of a big fire seven months ago in which as many as 68 inmates were killed.
