Victor was arrested in Seoul [South Korea] on April 15, 2004. He was accused of carrying a small quantity of hash which he vehemently denies doing so. He was arrested at the same time as two Americans who were allegedly carrying the 2 kilograms of hash, and two Russians [one from Kyrgyzstan].
According to the law, the Korean Government can hold a person up to 5 years pending any court action.
Victor has had no visitors beside FPSS member 'Brenda' who went to Korea in November 2004 to get him a lawyer and no one there would take his case because the law does not provide for adversarial proceedings.
Victor was formally charged with possession of marijuana and conspiracy to import it. He was sentenced six years without parole.
A third person has since confessed to the crime and his confession exonerates Victor from any wrong doing. FPSS has a copy of this confession. We respect the decision of the South Korean court and its authorities but we hope that it might give some consideration to the confession and therefore, review the case.
The South Korean authorities have allowed letters to Victor Eze and for that we are truly grateful. We trust that should our members decide to write that they will do so with the greatest appreciation for his position and with respect to the authorities detaining him.

All letters are censored both outgoing and incoming. Be very careful that you do not offend the authorities in any way as this can have repurcussions for the prisoners. When you do write, please let Victor know that you learned of his case from FPSS. It can be a little daunting to get a letter without knowing how it was generated.
FPSS would also request that if you do get a response you keep us informed so that we can keep Victor's campaign updated.
