To FPSS:

I am so pleased to write on behalf of myself and all Tanzania prisoners in this Thai prison [Bangkwang]. We appeal to your human kindness to open your heart to this very impontant matter. We need your help.

It is frustrating that no help is given to us from our own government. We are here for 14 years+ now and without any real hope. We cannot return home because there is no treaty between our countries. We are serving extremely long sentences, most without any possiblity for release.

We need people who visit your site to write to our President and others Ministries to tell them that we are desperate for their help. Our problem began since 1993 till now. We ask only that our Government negotiate our transfer back to our country so that we can finish our sentences in our own country. We have seen that this is possible. Many other foreigners have been transferred back to their homeland. We only want the same.

Every letter we have sent to our government has failed to make any difference. We fear that we will never see our homeland or those we left behind.

We know that Thailand and Tanzania have "agreed" to sign a prisoner transfer agreement, the two parliaments have endorsed this agreement at the beginning of 2006. Since then, nothing has changed. We struggle to make our voices heard but our leaders cannot hear us. We have no help and very little hope. Please ask your members to assist us. We accept our situation but we just want to go back to Tanzania to fulfill our sentence.

May god bless you,

Tanzanians in Thai Prison [Bangkwang]
